Replacement Strings
Part of the oddity and charm of a ‘bari” is that the D and G strings are wound steel, and the B and E strings are nylon. The steel strings break frequently, usually at the point of tension. So, you quickly become a string expert. I buy mine from StringsByMail.com. I’ve tried many sets of D’Addario, but on a suggestion from Strings by Mail, I recently replaced with LaBella Strings. Amazing! Like a new instrument with a lovely, full tone.
